This was sent to me by a friend of ours (Steve). It’s pretty good:
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend by the name of Common Sense who has been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic Red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn’t always fair.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge).
His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but over bearing regulations were set in place.
Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; but, could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Finally,Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. Also, a brother, Consideration for Other People. He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still know him pass this on, if not join the majority and do nothing.
Can you believe that this is the richest man in the world?

This is a great quote which sums it up:
With Carson’s passing, an entire generation of young adults have suddenly become Old. There’s an entire generation behind us that never saw “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.” We will try — with embarrassing and dithering enthusiasm — to explain to them what it was like and we’ll fail. Completely. No doubt part of that’s because our childhoods are so deeply infused with memories of Carson and his show. The first time my parents and I were in the same room laughing at the same thing, we were watching The Tonight Show. That’s some powerful mojo, and it’s a memory shared by nearly everybody born before 1980.
I remember many a night that I would sneak out of my room to the top of the basement stairs where I could manage to peak through the door to watch Carson well past my bedtime.
Last week we confirmed that our cat Jasper has diabetes. He lost about 7 pounds (15 down from 22) but was otherwise healthy. He was peeing lots, sleeping more than usual and recently started showing signs of Diabetic Neuropathy.
He’s now on daily insulin injections for the rest of his life. He has already shown signs of recovery and just looks better in general.

Well here we are in the VIP lounge in Cancun waiting for our flight. We got to watch out luggage get searched rather than behind closed doors.
Today we spend the day swimming in the ocean and chilling by the pool.
We had a great time and look forward to planning next years trip away to the sun!
Well we spent our last day here shopping down in Playa del Carmen. We are done with bartering and fending off the time-share people!
We headed back for some lunch and then we both had massages at the spa here in the resort.
We are just heading killing time for dinner at 9:00 PM and we are both about ready to come home. Tomorrow will be spent by / in the ocean. We need to check-out at noon and we leave here at 5:00 for the airport. They have a hospitality room but it would be nice to be able to stay in our room longer. They offer late check-out but Saturday is the busiest day and they can`t let us stay.
It looks like the weather will warm up just in time for us to return
I´m sure that no one ha any sympathy for us but it rained her most of the day. We just hung out in our room, ventured out for the odd walk and meals.
We managed to rescue a small bird that was trapped in the valted ceiling of the lobby of the hotel. It kept flying around in circles trying to fly out of the sky painted ceiling. I got it to climb in my hat and took it out side where I think it was glad to get some rest.
Tomorrow the plan is some final shopping in Playa del Carmen and some more time in the sun (unless it rains again).
