Shopping

This is a first in many posts about some of the wonderful idiosyncrasies that I love about Tammy.

When we go shopping (typically this happens at the magazine rack at the grocery store) Tammy will usually not take the first item on display. She will root around to the back to find the ‘un-spoiled’ one that has not been handled by every other prospective shopper. It’s not all items but typically magazines, books, and other unpackaged items that you typically use and re-use. However it does occasionally extend to packaged goods such as your typical IKEA or Costco items where people browse the boxes to see what’s inside.

Before meeting Tammy this concept had never occurred to me and I was un-knowingly living on the edge purchasing items with enough forensic evidence on them to make the CSI people drool. My own shopping habits changed upon returning from a solo shopping trip for Tammy. I was unable to answer her question regarding if the People magazine I had purchased her was in fact ‘from the the back’.

Now when I am shopping and I about to take something from the shelf I think about this, then Tammy and then I smile. It’s just one of those little things I love about her.
