iPod dropped in airplane toilet = big trouble

I am going to make sure I leave my iPod in my seat when I go to the bathroom the next time I fly!

I was just getting used to packing a single bag to avoid checking my luggage. Now with all the new security rules I think I will now check everything and show up at the gate in my underwear.

She has her own blog but I figured that it was time I posted a picture here as well.

New Blog Software

After switching to a third party web hosting company I have switched to WordPress for this blog. I need to do a bit of customization to get things back to normal but otherwise I think it looks pretty good.

World Trade Center

When I was scanning in my Dad’s 2,000+ slide collection I came a cross some some great photos this being one of the best (except for the people’s heads in the way).

World Trade Center vintage 70's

On the same Y’s Men’s trip in the 70’s my Dad (with hair and the mutton chops and all) got the obligatory cockpit photo back in th day when anyone could wander up and visit the cockpit. I also have some shots of them all chain smoking on the plane as well but those just make me ill thinking about it.

Das Keyboard

Coming from a ‘hunt & peck’ typist this keyboard gives me a headache just looking at it. The idea behind the Das Keyboard is that if the keys are blank you will learn to touch type faster just line a piano which has no labels on the keys.

The Gang

All it takes is a bug in the house to have everyone get along and work together. Freya ate the bug and ended the party soon afterwards.

Father’s Day 2006 8:30 AM

This Father’s Day (Father’s Day To-Be for me) Tammy awakened me with a light breakfast of fruit and muffins in advance of a great brunch at the Zoo. She placed the plate on my alarm clock which caused the time to start changing i.e. 7:45…7:46… 7:47. We chuckled at this and chatted as I was waking out of my usual comatose state in the morning. We then grabbed the plate and enjoyed our snack in bed (and Hanna closed it out by cleaning the plate).

To our amazement we looked at the messed up clock and the time was set to the exactly time as Tammy’s clock on her night-stand! It was spooky. That random event could cause the clock to be set back to the original time. We have agreed that we should buy lottery tickets.

Shopping

This is a first in many posts about some of the wonderful idiosyncrasies that I love about Tammy.

When we go shopping (typically this happens at the magazine rack at the grocery store) Tammy will usually not take the first item on display. She will root around to the back to find the ‘un-spoiled’ one that has not been handled by every other prospective shopper. It’s not all items but typically magazines, books, and other unpackaged items that you typically use and re-use. However it does occasionally extend to packaged goods such as your typical IKEA or Costco items where people browse the boxes to see what’s inside.

Before meeting Tammy this concept had never occurred to me and I was un-knowingly living on the edge purchasing items with enough forensic evidence on them to make the CSI people drool. My own shopping habits changed upon returning from a solo shopping trip for Tammy. I was unable to answer her question regarding if the People magazine I had purchased her was in fact ‘from the the back’.

Now when I am shopping and I about to take something from the shelf I think about this, then Tammy and then I smile. It’s just one of those little things I love about her.
